Verifying a licence

Every advert from a licensed seller publishes the licence number and the issuing council on the page, as Schedule 6 of the 2018 Regulations requires. The same details appear on the seller's public profile, so you can check a licence without contacting us.

Before we grant the Licensed breeder badge we check the number against the issuing council's public register by hand. Where a council does not publish a register, we contact the licensing team. If you would rather we verified against a feed you maintain, we would prefer that too - tell us.

Reporting a seller

Use the report form and say you are writing from a local authority. Those reports skip the queue. We act on every report within 12 working hours and we will tell you the outcome.

If you need an advert taken down urgently - an animal at risk, an unlicensed commercial seller, a prohibited breed - email hello@panjopets.com with "urgent, local authority" in the subject.

Requesting data

We will disclose seller data to a local authority exercising its statutory functions, under Article 6(1)(e) and Schedule 2 of the Data Protection Act 2018. We ask for a written request on council letterhead naming the statutory power relied on, the seller, and the specific data needed. We do not disclose in response to an informal enquiry, and we log every disclosure.

For an ongoing arrangement we can put a data processing agreement in place. Ask and we will send our standard one.

What we block before a moderator sees it

• Prohibited types under the Dangerous Dogs Act, including XL Bully.
• Puppies and kittens under six months from anyone who did not breed them.
• Animals below the minimum age for their species. The table is public.
• Pregnant animals, cropped ears, swaps, loans, and courier delivery of a live vertebrate.
• Adverts from a licensed seller missing any of the six statutory fields.
