Why we charge for adverts at all
A paid advert prices out the volume dealers who list dozens of throwaway adverts and disappear when one is reported. It is the cheapest, bluntest welfare control we have, and it pays for the people who read every report. Free-to-list sounds generous and produces a worse marketplace.
Prices include VAT. We give sellers 30 days' notice before any price rises.
